Fight Force event skins return to the Apex Legends shop

The upcoming shop update on January 6 is set to bring back a wave of fan favorite cosmetics from the Fight Force collection event. These items are expected to return as standalone offers rather than being locked behind bundles or event packs. This update gives players another chance to grab high tier legendary skins for several popular legends including Bloodhound, Wattson, and Octane.

The Fight Force event was originally known for its combat themed aesthetic and unique character designs. By offering these as standalone purchases Respawn Entertainment is allowing players to pick and choose specific items without having to invest in larger packages. This is a significant move for players who missed the original event window or those who only want a specific weapon skin to complete their loadout.

All legend skins in the January 6 shop update

The shop rotation will be heavily populated with legendary and epic character skins that have not been seen in the store for some time. Based on the latest reports the following legend cosmetics will be available for direct purchase:

Each of these skins represents some of the best design work from the original Fight Force event. Players can expect these legendary items to be priced at the standard 1800 Apex Coins or available through crafting metals if they have enough saved in their inventory.

New weapon skins arriving in the featured store

In addition to the legend outfits several weapon skins are slated for the January 6 update. These skins cover a variety of the most used weapons in the current meta from long range marksman rifles to versatile submachine guns.

  • Repeater Wave: A sleek and modern skin for the 30-30 Repeater.
  • Flame Spitter: A legendary skin for the Spitfire LMG with a fire based design.
  • Topographic Tide: A detailed skin for the C.A.R. SMG featuring intricate patterns.
  • Swift Take Down: A legendary skin for the G7 Scout designed for precision.
  • Keylime Kick: A legendary skin for the Mastiff shotgun with a bright citrus color palette.

The inclusion of the C.A.R. SMG and the Spitfire skins is particularly noteworthy as these weapons continue to be top tier choices for players in both ranked and casual play. Having high quality skins for these workhorse weapons is always a priority for the player base.

The start of the new year will be a massive moment for Horizon mains and lore enthusiasts. A trailer for the Horizon prestige skin is officially scheduled to release on January 1. This trailer will likely showcase the three different tiers of the mythic outfit as well as the unique finisher and dive trail associated with the set.

Prestige skins are the highest tier of cosmetic in Apex Legends and they require players to complete specific damage challenges to unlock higher versions. The Horizon skin is expected to follow the Velo Winter theme which has been teased in recent game files. Fans are eager to see how the gravity manipulator looks in her most advanced armor set yet.

Note: There have been leaks for the season 28 skin roadmap, including the long awaited Star Wars collab!

Season 27 Split 2 patch notes and balance changes

Alongside the prestige skin trailer players can expect the release of the official patch notes for Season 27 Split 2. These notes will detail the mid season balance changes and any legend adjustments coming to the game.

Split 2 typically brings a shift in the map rotation and a reset for the ranked ladder. With the Horizon prestige skin acting as the primary reward for the upcoming milestone event the second half of the season is looking to be very competitive. Players should keep an eye out for potential buffs or nerfs to mobility legends as the developers continue to refine the fast paced gameplay that defines the battle royale.
