Despite a miraculous comeback on Inferno, FURIA had no chance against NAVI on two of the three maps.
“We lost a 1v3 that’s impossible to lose,” said iM after the match. “We were tilted.”
Despite losing that unloseable 1v3 to FalleN, then losing a map they were winning 10-3, NAVI proceeded to go to the decider and dominate FURIA 13-3.
The series kicked off on Mirage, where NAVI took the map convincingly 13-5. Ihor ‘w0nderful’ Zhdanov and Mihai ‘iM’ Ivan continued their top form in this event to propel NAVI.
molodoy fails to perform; FalleN apologetic
It was the rookie, Drin ‘makazze’ Shaqiri, who stepped up on that final map. He destroyed FURIA with 20 kills over 16 rounds, while Danil ‘molodoy’ Golubenko missed shot after shot.
Despite molodoy being hyped up as the rookie of the year, he failed to show up in the biggest stage. NAVI will move on instead to face FaZe Clan in an unexpected semi-final.
“I’m just gonna say that they played better, they deserved it,” Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo said after the match. “We won 4 out of 5 tournaments this year, that’s insane.”
FalleN takes advantage of NAVI throw
Despite losing the series, FalleN left behind a moment that merited a graffiti according to some. He won a 1v3 that looked like it could turn the series.
iM almost gets clutch of the tournament
While FURIA was coming back on Inferno, iM almost had his greatest clutch. He got a 1v5 down to a 1v1, and a 7HP FalleN.
It was the Brazilian to edge it out, and keep his team alive in the series.
