Valve has released a significant update to Counter-Strike 2, marking the start of Premier Season Three, reintroducing Overpass to the Active Duty map pool.
The update arrives just a week before IEM Cologne and brings the first competitive map change since the beginning of the 2025 season.
Overpass, which was removed from Active Duty in April 2024, returns in place of Anubis. This marks the first time Anubis is out of the pool since its competitive debut in November 2022. The change ends Overpass’ absence of over a year.
Changes for CT
The update also includes notable gameplay tweaks focused on the Counter-Terrorist side. CT players will now receive a $50 team bonus for each Terrorist eliminated during a round, regardless of whether the round is won or lost.
On top of that, the incendiary grenade has been buffed: fire now spreads more quickly, addressing concerns from a previous nerf in May. Meanwhile, the MP9 has been hit with a double downgrade—higher recoil and significantly worse accuracy while jumping.
