FaZe Clan has officially reinstated Helvijs “broky” Saukants to its active CS2 lineup. The Latvian AWPer returns after a two-month bench period during which Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev stood in for the team at IEM Dallas and BLAST.tv Austin Major.
broky’s return was confirmed via a post on X, accompanied by a short video in which he stated, “I’m back.” FaZe referred to him as “recharged, refreshed, and readier than ever.”
The move marks the end of s1mple’s temporary involvement with the roster. As of now, FaZe has not indicated any further changes for the summer break.
Back to basics for FaZe
FaZe’s current CS2 roster has undergone several high-profile adjustments in the past 12 months. The addition of David “frozen” Čerňanský and Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski earlier in the season injected fresh energy and tactical flexibility, while the temporary inclusion of s1mple was widely seen as a high-risk, high-reward experiment.
By reinstating broky, FaZe appears to prioritize long-term synergy over short-term spectacle. It is a calculated move to reinforce consistency rather than rely on momentary firepower. In coordination with in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen, broky’s return solidifies the team’s established communication structure.
