apEX: It’s sad not to have Falcons here

According to the Vitality captain, it’s a shame the last stages of the Major won’t feature the best teams in the world.

Counter-Strike fans hoping for another showdown between Vitality and Falcons will have to wait a bit longer.

Falcons’ shocking Major exit in Austin means that the final stages will miss Vitality’s biggest competitor for the title.

And that’s something that saddens Vitality’s in-game leader Dan “apEX” Madesclaire.

– It’s really unfortunate what happened with Falcons, apEX told Pley in an interview at the media day in Austin.

– They have been the team that has been the best against us during the year. It’s been really tough to play against them. It’s a sad thing not to have Falcons here because it’s always best to have a playoff with the best teams.

Who’s the biggest threat now?

With Falcons out of the picture, we asked apEX who he sees as the biggest threats heading into the final stages.

– I can’t pick one. I will go with four teams: MOUZ, Spirit, The MongolZ and Aurora. These are the best teams right now. But it’s a Major, so you can never underestimate anyone. There’s never a free win or an easy match. Majors is a way different tournament.

In our interview with apEX, the Vitality IGL also touched on the Major format, which he finds flawed.

– We all know that Majors doesn’t have the best format. We have way better formats at other tournaments. We all hope that it’s going to change in the next Major. But right now, we can’t change anything, so now we need to focus on the things we can control.
