Another Major, another medal for Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut.
After lifting the trophy with Vitality on Sunday night, the French superstar was named the official MVP of the BLAST.tv Austin Major by HLTV, being his second-ever Major MVP and his 27th overall.
ZywOo ended the tournament with a 1.42 HLTV rating, the fifth-highest ever recorded at a Major. He dominated the server in all the big matches, delivering when it mattered most and helping Vitality to a perfect playoff run.
In an interview with HLTV, ZywOo touched on the personal accolade.
– It feels really good, to be honest. Every time I start a tournament, I’m not really thinking about the MVP because it’s really far from the beginning, but now I’m really happy because I got one in CS:GO and one in CS2, so it’s two different games, I would say.
– I’m really happy because I’m proud of what I’m bringing to the team, and also proud of the guys around me because without them, I don’t think I could play at the level I do, so I’m really happy for that.
This is now ZywOo’s seventh MVP award in 2025. That puts him just one short of Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s calendar-year record of eight MVPs, set back in 2021.
It’s been a flawless season so far from Vitality, and ZywOo has been at the heart of it all.
