Falcons is off to a horrendous start at the Austin Major, now facing elimination after back-to-back losses on the opening day.
Coming in as the top seed, many expected Falcons to cruise through Stage 2. But two major upsets against B8 and Lynn Vision have left NiKo and company with their backs against the wall in Texas.
“A very rough day”
It was therefore a clearly disappointed Danny “zonic” Sørensen who spoke to BLAST last night, sharing his take on the team’s poor showing.
– I wish I had the answer. We’re just not feeling like ourselves right now. I don’t know if the pressure is getting to us or what it is. It could be just a bad day at the office.
– It sucks right now, but we still have a good chance if we play our game. We obviously have to believe, but right now we’re hurting. It’s been a very rough day.

Work on the mental side
The Danish coach pointed to uncharacteristic communication issues within the team during both matches on Saturday, concluding the interview by highlighting the mental aspect of playing a Major.
– It just didn’t feel like the way we normally play, act and communicate. There was a lot of misunderstanding and hesitation. So I have to go back to the practice room and have a good talk with the team. We have tried this before, and we will come back stronger tomorrow, hopefully.
– It’s never over until it’s over. You can prep, bootcamp and do a lot of things, but half of it, if you want to go far at a Major, is the mental part. So that’s something we need to work on tonight for sure.
Falcons will face OG in a must-win elimination match on Sunday.
