“These moves are clearly an act of desperation”

Jason “moses” O’Toole isn’t exactly impressed with FURIA and their new project.

In April, FURIA went through a major roster overhaul with the signing of Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis and Danil “molodoy” Golubenko.

The duo acquisition now places FURIA in uncharted waters – YEKINDAR joins after a lacklustre stint with Liquid, while molodoy has no experience at the top level.

But most importantly, the roster will now have to communicate in English.

Expert is not optimistic

If you ask the Counter-Strike analyst Jason “moses” O’Toole, the changes come off as desperate.

Something he explained in the Feed the Trolls podcast.

– These moves are clearly an act of desperation. I think they feel locked, in terms of not being able to get any of the young Brazilian talents – I don’t know if that’s been a goal of theirs. But I don’t feel like they have any great choices on where to go. They don’t really have any great answers or ideas of how to get better from here. It’s clear that this project is stuck in the mud, moses states.

“I’m here for the car crash”

Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes and Felipe “skullz” Medeiros were the two FURIA members to get axed in the creation of this new international lineup.

Later in the podcast, moses doubled down, calling the additions of YEKINDAR and molodoy a “Hail Mary” and admitting he’s mostly here to watch the chaos unfold.

– I think it’s just a shot in the dark to see if they can create something, when what they were going to go into clearly was going to accomplish nothing. That Fer interview was pretty fucking damning as well.

– I don’t really have any deep thoughts on how this will work, because I actually do just feel that this is a Hail Mary. They have brought them in because it was going to be terrible, so let’s rock and roll and see what we get. I’m just more curious about the long-term and if it’s going to be a full-blown switch. It’s one of those moves that I don’t like and like at the same time. I’m here for the car crash, I’m here for the chaos. But I don’t have a lot of positives outside like hopes, dreams and wishy-washy bullshit, moses says in the podcast.

FURIA’s new international lineup will make its debut later this month when PGL Astana kicks off on May 10.
