Rasmus “sjuush” Beck has officially parted ways with Heroic, concluding a nearly four-year tenure with the organization. During this period, sjuush established himself as a vital component of Heroic’s success, contributing to the team’s rise as one of the premier forces in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). This departure marks the end of an era for both the player and the team as Heroic embarks on a new chapter.
A storied career with Heroic
Sjuush joined Heroic in February 2021 after transferring from MAD Lions. Under the leadership of Casper “cadiaN” Møller, Heroic became a consistent presence at the highest levels of competition. The team achieved several notable milestones, including:
- Two BLAST Premier titles, showcasing their dominance against top-tier opponents.
- Finalist appearances at IEM Rio Major 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023, cementing their status as a global contender.
Sjuush’s contributions were integral to these successes, particularly in high-pressure moments where his calm and clutch abilities shone.
In 2024, Heroic underwent significant roster changes, moving toward an international lineup. Despite this transition, sjuush remained one of the last pillars of stability alongside René “TeSeS” Madsen. The team’s performance during this period included a semi-final finish at IEM Rio and a quarter-final run at the Shanghai Major, though their overall results fell short of expectations.
The end of an era
Heroic’s recent restructuring saw the departure of several key players, including Martin “stavn” Lund and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard, who joined Astralis, and cadiaN, who transitioned to Team Liquid. This left sjuush as one of the few remaining veterans in the roster. However, with the organization undergoing a comprehensive rebuild, sjuush’s exit became inevitable.
Reflecting on his time with Heroic, sjuush shared his gratitude in a heartfelt message on social media:
“Thankful for all the memories we shared together in Heroic. Looking forward to what the future brings.”
Heroic’s future without sjuush
Heroic now faces the challenge of rebuilding from the ground up. The departure of such a foundational player signals the need for a fresh approach to regain their competitive edge. As one of the most successful Danish teams in the history of Counter-Strike, Heroic’s legacy is undeniable, but the Norwegian organization must now adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of CS2.
Next stop NIP?
While sjuush’s next destination has not been officially confirmed, several rumors have linked him with a move to the Swedish organization Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP). If these reports prove accurate, it would represent a significant addition to NIP’s roster, as they seek to rebuild and compete at the highest levels of CS2.
