Yesterday, Cloud9 eliminated home crowd favorites from Imperial in a nail-biting elimination series, in which the Russian squad came out on top with a 2-0 scoreline after overtime rounds on both Overpass and Vertigo. With the victory, Cloud9 secured themselves another opportunity to keep their Legends Stage dreams alive as they take upon Evil Geniuses in their next best-of-three series.
Cloud9’s 21-year-old AWPer, Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov was unstoppable in the elimination series and played a big role in securing the victory, having an immense impact throughout both maps, especially on Vertigo where he dropped 45 frags and finished with a 1.47 Rating. Thanks to him, Cloud9 were able to force any advantages Imperial had in most rounds to slip through their fingers.
After the match, sh1ro even went to Twitter, which we don’t see the 21-year-old Russian do that often, stating that this match is one of the best moments in his entire career.
I've downloaded twitter to write this post. One of the best moments in my entire career, on this great scene in front of this fire people. I've a lot of respect for the Imperial and @FalleNCS in particular. I downloaded his demos and watched them in CS 1.6..

Then in CS GO, when I was only a kid, and now I'm playing versus his team and him on the stage. It's really incredible. Thank you, Imperial, for a game. That was a great match and a crazy ride at the same time.
