paiN win $100K at Global Esports Tour Rio 2024

Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt’s men defeated a well-playing Imperial in the Grand Final.

Over the weekend, eight teams competed for the majority share of a $200,000 prize pool at the Global Esports Tour Rio.

paiN emerged victorious after defeating Imperial in the Grand Final. Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt’s team staged a remarkable comeback against Imperial, overcoming a deficit after losing on Inferno. Initially, paiN was not slated to participate in the event, but they received an invitation as a replacement team when the Danish squad Preasy disbanded.

What makes paiN’s victory even more remarkable is that they competed with Marcelo “nyezin” Ramos as a stand-in, following the expiration of Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira’s loan deal with the team at the beginning of April.

The final result of Global Esports Tour Rio 2024:

1st paiN – $100,000

2nd Imperial – $50,000

3rd MIBR – $20,000

4th OG – $10,000

5-6th: 9z, FURIA – $5,000

7-8th: Monte, Metizport – $5,000
