MOUZ battle past Legacy to make it to Major playoffs

The #2 team at the event has made it to playoffs, bouncing back from a 0-2 start.

MOUZ defeated Legacy at the BLAST.tv Austin Major to make it to the final 8-team bracket

After making the playoffs of every tournament of the season, MOUZ bounced back in this series to keep their streak.

MOUZ came back from two huge deficits in maps 2 and 3 to keep their Major run alive.

Legacy are eliminated in 9th-11th place, while MOUZ moves onto the playoffs.

Legacy joined the Major in Stage 1 as a substitute for BESTIA, and made it all the way to the end of Stage 3, failing when it mattered most.

15-2 in opening kills on Ancient for Legacy

MOUZ’s pick of Ancient backfired as they only managed 2 rounds, including the pistol round, as Legacy rolled over the CT-side.

Legacy was unstoppable and MOUZ could not deal with the pace – they had 15 opening kills to MOUZ’s 2 over the course of the map.

The trio of Legacy – dumau, latto and n1ssim – all got 11 or more frags on the CT-side, outshining all of MOUZ.

Jimpphat and xertioN were notably absent, capitulating with two critical misses in the final round to cost the map.

On Legacy’s pick of Inferno, a map they have not lost all Major, they were in a 6-4 position on the first half.

They fumbled the last round, by allowing Jimpphat to win the 1v2 via saadzin peeking too early, making the half 6-6.

MOUZ bring back a 6-10 deficit thanks to Legacy misses

Legacy easily defended MOUZ’s double A-attack in pistol and force-buy to get to 10-4.

Legacy looked poised to close it out, but MOUZ won 9 of the next 10 rounds to close the map and force Nuke.

Many of the rounds were within one or two kills for Legacy, but they slipped away.

Two of them were crucial saadzin misses at A-balcony, that allowed MOUZ to get the A-site.

The final round was a B-site execute, which worked for MOUZ as Legacy stacked the opposite site.

MOUZ can’t win consecutively on Nuke

Legacy got to start on the defensive side of Nuke, losing the pistol but winning the force-buy thanks to a Scout 3k from saadzin.

It was a one-sided affair for Legacy from there, getting up to 5-1. Spinx did have a 1v3 on 8 HP, with precise headshots to get one back, but saadzin immediately responded with an AWP 2k to give Legacy the following round.

In the second half, MOUZ took the pistol again, and barely managed the conversion despite Jimpphat fumbling the ramp hold.

Legacy immediately answered with a round, marked by a Brollan overcommitment which gave Legacy a 4v4.

Another MOUZ comeback

MOUZ found form late in the map again to win 8 rounds in a row, taking the lead and then the map. The Hungarian AWPer, torzsi found 9 kills in the second half to power the comeback, 6 with the AWP.

In the end, Legacy only managed a single T-round which led to their demise.
