In an extremely close match, it was Team Liquid who survived another day at IEM Cologne.

Both Team Liquid and mousesports had lost their opening match narrowly and were under heavy pressure to win to stay alive in the tournament.

Both teams lost their own map pick which gave way for a classic decider on Inferno. Here Team Liquid looked like a winner, but mousesports made a spectacular comeback in the last round despite being outgunned due to a broken economy. Overtime was needed to find the first elimination from this year’s IEM Cologne.

The “old” Team Liquid guard, EliGE, NAF, and Stewie2K was making the difference on Inferno for the North Americans, who had to go through three overtime series to secure their spot in the next round of the lower bracket at IEM Cologne. A big disappointment for mousesports and ropz, who did everything he could with 45 kills on the last map, but it was not enough! NAF made the last kill to eliminate mousesports after a crazy triple overtime! The North Americans will face either BIG or G2 in the next round of the lower bracket.
