MIBR will live to fight another day, ending Falcons’ hopes at a comeback.
MIBR will have to win their match tomorrow to make it to the main stage of the Major, while Falcons is eliminated.
The game was decided on Inferno, needing three overtimes. Falcons had two match points, including a 3v5 post-plant, but failed to convert them.
m0NESY and TeSeS turn up
The first map of Ancient was a dicey but comfortable affair for Falcons.
The wunderkind, m0NESY, showed up with good form, winning an important 1v1 against brnz4n. He topped the charts along with TeSeS, who also returned to form after a subpar tournament so far.
MIBR had Lucaozy and insani fragging and won a full eco round, but were unable to translate it into consecutive round wins.
Falcons took MIBR’s map pick and went on to Nuke.
MIBR punch back on Nuke
MIBR had a hot start to Nuke, getting a 6-1 lead.
Falcons managed to reply, and had a chance to break MIBR’s money, but Lucaozy defended A-site against 4 players by himself.
They ran through the rest of the half and picked up T-side pistol.
The Brazilians lost the economic tug of war, so Falcons were able to come back into the game. MIBR took some eco rounds, called a bold vent rush to win and take it to Inferno.
Magisk saves Falcons on Inferno
“They’re not playing like a team trying to win, they’re playing like a team not to lose,” SPUNJ said on the broadcast about Falcons.
Falcons found themselves repeatedly in a saving situation.
Insani was sharp for MIBR, winning a 1v3 to give his team a three round streak in the first half.
With the game 8-4 in their favor, MIBR won the pistol to give them a 6 round buffer.
Falcons started to streak rounds together, but MIBR went for a timely A-stack at 10-7. It was going to work, until Magisk found a 180 headshot to kill an unsuspecting saffee.
The game went to overtime, as brnz4n and MIBR managed a 4v5 retake on B-site and Falcons secured 12-12 with a B hit.

Falcons were the first to reach match point in OT, but insani quickly returned with two B-entries to return to parity.
It was Falcons to have a 5v3 winning position at match point once again, but brnz4n somehow clinched the retake to extend the game further.
MIBR closed the series with a late-game performance from brnz4n.
