Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and his young G2 sidekick Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov is a package deal if it was down to the latter to decide.
The strong rifle/AWP-duo has been dominating the server together for two years now with great success, but in the most recent off-season, heavy rumors stated that both NiKo and m0nesy were on their way out of G2.
Falcons reportedly aim to sign the likes of m0NESY, NiKo and Twistzz
The Saudi-backed Falcons were the biggest suitors, with Cloud9 allegedly being interested in signing m0nesy.
In a recent interview with HLTV, m0nesy touched on the matter expressing a strong loyalty and demotion towards NiKo.
– I wanted to go with NiKo wherever he went, m0NESY says to HLTV and continues:
– This guy gave me so much knowledge about this game, and I still needed to collect the rest of the puzzle you know (laughs). Just being with him in the same team is amazing. We have a great atmosphere, we understand each other perfectly, we tell each other where we see we can be better, we make mistakes and we correct them and discuss them. It’s so nice, you can’t imagine. It’s so cool to understand you don’t sit in one place, you do everything to become a better version of yourself. That’s why I wanted to go with him. In the end, I got another offer that I was interested in, but G2 didn’t want to sell me.
