Many experts and fans had Falcons as the top contender to battle Vitality for the title at BLAST.tv Austin Major.
But last night, the Saudi team got sent packing from Texas after a disappointing showing at the Major.
After the devastating loss to MIBR, Falcons captain Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski spoke to BLAST, reflecting on the early exit and their performance in Austin.
– We are obviously really disappointed. We did not expect something like this going to happen. We did not play our best game, and that’s why we did not qualify for the next stage. We just made way too many mistakes and good teams will always punish that.
To the Falcons fans out there, kyxsan took his time to apoligize for their campaign in Austin:
– I’m really sorry about this performance. We all expected more, but it is what it is. Hopefully next time we will have better luck and play better.
“We played differently”
Falcons arrived in Austin in outstanding form having presented one impressive result after another. However, they never seemed to find their footing at the ongoing Major.
When asked if the team felt different in this event, kyxsan admitted:
– Maybe this event. We are still the old Falcons, but at this event, we played differently. Maybe it was because of the pressure and the high expectations, I’m not sure. But we didn’t play close to our usual level at this event.
Lastly, the Falcons captain was asked about the heavy rumours around Falcons and the reported roster moves.
– I can’t say anything about it right now [about the rumours and reports]. I guess there will be some news or updates soon, kyxsan told BLAST.
