Valve has released the June edition of its VRS (Valve Regional Standings), a key update that locks in direct invites for two of the summer’s biggest events: IEM Cologne and the Esports World Cup.
Among those benefiting from the latest shuffle are Astralis and Ninjas in Pyjamas, both securing slots at IEM Cologne after climbing the rankings on the back of recent LAN performances.
Astralis now sit 11th in the global standings after their top-four finish at PGL Astana. While they fall just short of a direct spot in Stage 2, they’ll be present in Cologne’s play-in stage next month.
Second top-tier event for NIP
NIP also earned their way in, qualifying for their second Big Event of the year after making playoffs in Kazakhstan as well.
IEM Cologne runs from July 23 to August 3, featuring 24 teams. The top 8 enter directly into Stage 2, while the rest start from Stage 1. The Esports World Cup, which also uses VRS standings, takes place August 20–24 in Riyadh.
