Gambit and G2 fought a hard battle to avoid elimination at IEM Katowice and advance to the playoff stage. After getting a good start on Vertigo, G2 fell apart and lost nine rounds in a row without planting the bomb one single time. From here on Gambit took control, and though they had some problems closing the map, they eventually took home Vertigo by 16-11.
G2 had an ace in their sleeve. Dust2 is their favorite map, and it was here, that the second battle of the match was set. G2 started as Terrorists and went to halftime leading 8-7. But on their CT-side the magic disappeared for G2, who has had some close calls in the tournament so far. Gambit won the map, and match with another 16-11 win.
Gambit is through to the Quarter-Finals on Friday at IEM Katowice, while G2 is out of the tournament.
