G2 won their opening match of Group B in BLAST Premier Spring, defeating the North American-side from Evil Geniuses 2-0 after coming back from a 2-7 deficit on Inferno and winning a close fight on Vertigo. The first map saw G2’s AmaNEk making the difference for the French-Balkan team as he went huge with 6 multi-kill rounds and won some key moments. G2 will play against the Juggernaut in the upper bracket tomorrow.
Inferno: 16-12 – AmaNEk | 1.29 rating | 86.1 ADR | 25-17 K/D

On the opener of Inferno, the North-American squad demonstrated exactly why they picked Inferno as they went to halftime with a scoreline of 6-9. But stanislaw’s troops didn’t manage to carry over their momentum to CT-side as G2 came alive and started to find openings, making it hard for the North-American squad to stabilize their defense. AmaNEk played a massive role in the closing rounds and helped his team to close out the map 16-12.
G2’s huNter played the lights out on Vertigo with full confidence, showing why he is a great player at the game. Even though G2 went to half time being one round behind EG, it could have gotten a lot worse for the French-Balkan team if they didn’t have huNter to win the opening duels and close the gaps. A close fight ended going the way of G2 as they won the second map of the series with a similar scoreline to the first to wrap up the series 2-0.
MVP:
Nemanja “huNter-“ Kovac | 1.31 rating | 71.4% KAST | 86.0 ADR | 46-37 K/D.
Told you, no need to worry about @G2huNter !
Great players will always have less good periods, but they also always bounce back if truely great at the game.
G2 and their t-sides looking solid tonight, huNter- and AmaNEk MVPs
