G2 Esports secured a dominant 2-0 victory over Virtus.pro in the PGL Bucharest 2025 quarter-finals, winning Dust2 13-11 and Mirage 13-9. With this result, they move on to face Complexity in the semi-final clash scheduled for Saturday at 19:00.
Virtus.pro’s decision to pick Dust2 backfired as G2 delivered a sharp T-side performance, taking an early lead. Although ICY’s pistol round heroics brought Virtus.pro back into the match, it was HeavyGod who sealed the map with back-to-back multi-kill rounds. On Mirage, G2 continued their offensive dominance, powered by a key Deagle double kill from malbsMd. Virtus.pro failed to adapt, and G2 closed out the map with confidence.
HeavyGod emerged as a standout performer, posting a 1.24 rating against Virtus.pro and averaging 1.22 across the tournament, ranking fourth overall. His consistency and impact have helped stabilize G2 in the post-NiKo era, especially amid rumors of roster changes after Bucharest.
On the other side, FL4MUS struggled to make an impact. The former GamerLegion star, once known for his aggression, appeared stifled within Virtus.pro’s structure. His 0.87 rating in Bucharest marked his lowest of the year.
As G2 prepares for a high-stakes semi-final against an in-form Complexity, the team’s cohesion and firepower will be crucial. Bucharest could either be the end of this iteration of G2 or the beginning of their long-awaited rise to the top.
