G2 have qualified for the Spring Finals as they managed to take down the Russian-Ukrainian side from Spirit in the semi-finals of the Showdown event. nexa’s troops leaves with a 1-2 second place and $30.000 in prize earnings, while Spirit takes home a 3-4th place and $16.250.

Spirit made a flying start to the game on Mirage, G2’s map pick, and completely shut down their offense, storming to a 9-3 lead. The G2 squad managed to grab two rounds right before halftime, but once again got destroyed as they switched sides in the second half. Spirit closed the map 16-6, convincingly to take a 1-0 series lead.

On Dust2, both teams put together a great fight. The Russian-Ukrainian side tore G2’s defense apart in the early stages and took a 8-3 lead, but as soon as G2 started to find their footing, they turned the tables around and strung together 10 consecutive rounds in a row, making it 13-8. huNter and company quickly made it to match point and closed the map 16-12 before Spirit even knew it.

G2 wrapped up the series 2-1 on the decider of Nuke, where they closed out the map 19-17 in OT. JaCkz stepped up huge for G2 and won some crucial key moments that helped them push the game into OT after being down 13-15.
