FURIA Signs Kazakh AWPer molodoy in Surprising Roster Move

FURIA Esports has officially signed 20-year-old Kazakh AWPer Danil “molodoy” Golubenko to its Counter-Strike 2 roster. The decision follows the benching of chelo, who had struggled to maintain consistent form in recent months. The addition of molodoy marks a significant departure from FURIA’s historically all-Brazilian lineup.

A Shift in Strategy

Danil “molodoy” Golubenko joins from AMKAL, a team that has yet to make a major impact on the international stage. Despite this, he has delivered strong individual performances, recording a 1.26 rating in 2025. His raw talent caught the attention of FURIA, who moved quickly following AMKAL’s failure to qualify for the European MRQ.

With molodoy expected to take over primary AWP duties, in-game leader FalleN may shift to a rifle role. This adjustment could alter the team’s tactical structure but allows FURIA to maintain a strong AWP presence without overburdening their IGL.

Looking Ahead

FURIA’s move introduces a fresh dynamic to their roster. Integrating a non-Portuguese speaker poses a communication challenge, but the team appears confident in the upside molodoy brings. With several key tournaments ahead, all eyes will be on how quickly he adapts to top-tier competition.
