At BLAST Rivals in Copenhagen, Falcons defeated MOUZ in straight maps to secure their spot in yet another Grand Final.
The top four teams in the world clashed in the semi-finals of BLAST Rivals Season 1, held in a studio setting in Copenhagen. In the first semi-final of the day, Falcons faced off against MOUZ, with the winner earning a place in the Grand Final against either Vitality or Spirit.
The first map was tightly contested. Falcons held a narrow lead going into halftime, but MOUZ responded strongly on their CT side to level the score. In overtime, Falcons held their nerve and secured the win, thanks in large part to a standout performance from Emil “Magisk” Reif. After facing criticism earlier in the year for inconsistent form, the Danish player has returned to top-level performance, thriving alongside his teammates during Falcons’ recent resurgence on the tier-1 scene.
Dust2 Domination from Falcons
On the second map, Dust2, both Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Nikola “NiKo” Kovač came alive.
The former G2 stars made an immediate impact upon joining Falcons, and continued their impressive run here. Falcons raced to a commanding 10-2 lead at halftime and closed out the map 13-6, sealing their third consecutive Grand Final appearance, following a win at PGL Bucharest and a runner-up finish at IEM Melbourne last week.
Right now, Falcons look like one of the few teams capable of challenging Vitality at the upcoming Major in Austin, Texas.
