Falcons confirm degster benching

The 23-year-old AWPer has been demoted ahead of an expected blockbuster arrival.

As expected, Falcons have announced the benching of their AWPer Abdul “degster” Gasanov.

The news comes just one day after degster helped Falcons win their first-ever CS trophy, claiming the title at PGL Bucharest 2025. The 23-year-old Russian was also named MVP of the event following a strong performance in Romania.

m0NESY coming in

Despite the achievement, degster has now been removed from the starting lineup to make way for his superstar countryman, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov.

m0NESY is expected to join Falcons ahead of IEM Melbourne, which begins next week. While the transfer has not been officially confirmed, G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte has publicly stated that m0NESY will leave the team.

Finished off in style

degster ends his short stint with Falcons on a high note. His MVP-winning performance in Bucharest not only helped the team lift the $1.25 million trophy, but also boosted his stock heading into the next chapter of his career.

The Russian AWPer joined Falcons earlier this year as part of a roster rebuild, arriving alongside kyxsan and TeSeS following a transfer from HEROIC.

Where he lands next remains to be seen, but after Bucharest, interest from other top-tier teams should be rising.
