The Grand Final of the Perfect World Shanghai Major delivered everything Counter-Strike fans could hope for, culminating in Spirit’s triumphant victory over FaZe to claim the coveted Major title.
Spirit takes down FaZe to claim Shanghai Major title
FaZe came agonizingly close, nearly forcing overtime on the third and deciding map of Dust2. However, the European squad fell just short, marking a painful end to their Major run.
After the intense 2-1 loss to Spirit and the record-breaking performance by Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, FaZe players took to X to share their thoughts.
In an emotional post, FaZe captain Finn “karrigan” Andersen paid tribute to his late brother, who tragically passed away before the tournament began.
Here’s how FaZe players reacted to the defeat:
Big brother, I wanted to let you know I gave everything I had, we once again finished 2nd in the major but there will be more chances.

What a match.
We needed 1 round to overtime but didn't make it.
2nd Major in 2024 and again 2nd place.
I AM SUPERPROUD of this TEAM.
How we win and how we rise after weaker moments.More chances will come. We just need to continue our mission.

Slow start on Dust2, if we played better there it would’ve been enough ☹️
Congrats @zont1x977, I remember couple of years ago I was asked to support him with funds to get a PC due to relocation. It hurts inside, but everything is deserved and you guys just enjoy the moment ❤️
