CS2 Update Adds Small Gameplay, Graphics, and Audio Fixes

Valve has released a minor update for Counter-Strike 2, focusing on adjustments to gameplay mechanics, visual fidelity, and audio clarity.

Gameplay: Deathmatch Teams No Longer Forced to Be Balanced

In Deathmatch mode, players can now participate in matches with unbalanced teams. This change offers more flexibility, especially for casual or practice play, where strict team symmetry may not be necessary.

Graphics: AK-47 Viewmodel Issues Resolved

The update addresses several visual inconsistencies, particularly those involving the AK-47:

  • Fire effects from molotov and incendiary grenades were previously visible through the AK-47 viewmodel. This has now been fixed.
  • Stickers placed on the front grip of the AK-47 were not lit correctly when using the left-hand viewmodel. This issue has been corrected.
  • A bug that caused inventory item icons to render incorrectly while scoped has also been resolved.

Audio: Improved Feedback for Attackers

Changes have been made to enhance the audio experience for players dealing damage:

  • The AK-47 firing sound has been slightly shortened at the beginning.
  • The delay in hearing body shot impact sounds from the attacker’s perspective has been reduced.
  • To make hit feedback clearer, the volume of weapon fire and ambient sounds is now briefly lowered when body shot impacts are played from the attacker’s point of view.
