Falcons have finally made the acquisition of Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov official, confirming the blockbuster deal this Monday.
The 19-year-old AWPer joins the Saudi organization from G2, after representing the team since January 2022.
Making way for the superstar signing is Abdul “degster” Gasanov, who was benched earlier today—just a day after helping Falcons win PGL Bucharest and securing his first-ever MVP award.
The biggest transfer in history?
According to a report by insider Guillaume ‘neL’ Rathier, the m0NESY deal is believed to be the biggest transfer in Counter-Strike history. Russian insider OverDrive reported that the buyout was between $2–2.5 million.
The move has been in the works for some time, with Falcons’ interest dating back to 2023. Now, the transfer is finally complete, reuniting Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and m0NESY once again – this time under the Falcons banner.
The announcement also comes just one day after Falcons and G2 faced off in the Grand Final of PGL Bucharest, a series Falcons won 3-0.
m0NESY is expected to play his first official match for Falcons next week when the team kicks off its campaign at IEM Melbourne.
