The first opening round matches at IEM Katowice Play-in has been played, which presented three strong and one-sided victories for BIG, Spirit and Gambit. All matches it the first round are BO3 games, which meant that these matchups were extremely quick.
The three victors are now only one win away from qualifying to the main event, as they advance through to the upper semifinals. The defeated Movistar Riders, Cloud9 and TeamOne are, on the other hand, being sent down into the lower bracket, where they will have to endure a dramatic elimination stage.
