Can the Danes break their Major curse?

The third day of action at the BLAST.tv Austin Major European Qualifier is over, and with it came more heartbreak, but also lifelines for a few.

In one of the day’s biggest storylines, Astralis clawed their way into Thursday’s final decider bracket by outlasting BIG in a high-stakes best-of-three. While things looked shaky early on with a 13-11 loss on Mirage, the Danes bounced back on Inferno and sealed the deal with a rock-solid showing on Ancient.

With that win, Casper “cadiaN” Møller and his crew are just one step away from qualifying for their first Major since 2021. On the other hand, BIG is now out of Major contention.

ENCE and B8 on top

Earlier in the evening, ENCE and B8 also managed to extend their tournament lifeline. The Ukrainian side, led by Andrii “npl” Kukharskyi, took down 9 Pandas 2-0 and will now face ENCE in a win-or-go-home series to decide who gets to challenge Astralis in the final qualifying match.

The winner of Thursday’s 17:00 BO3 between Astralis and the ENCE-B8 winner will secure the final European spot at the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
