device on coming back to Astralis: I have found the desire and joy to play again
The comeback kid is ready to join the action again after an entire 2022 season without any officials.
The blockbuster transfer of Nicolai “device” Reedtz to Astralis was announced this Thursday morning after a long period of rumours and chatter surrounding a potential return of the superstar AWPer.
The now-former NIP player is not only set to return to Astralis, but he’s also set to make a much-awaited comeback to competitive play following a lengthy break from the server due to health/mental issues. But now he’s ready to compete again, device explains in a statement to Astralis.
Everyone knows that I have been through a difficult period, but I’ve taken the time out that I needed to recover and find the best version of myself. That only gives me extra motivation and I want to focus my energy on looking forward. I have found the desire and joy to play again
I’m excited to get back to doing what I love, contributing to the team and I can’t wait to get started. - Astralis know exactly what kind of player they are getting, I know the vast majority in the organization and know what I have to deliver on and off the server. I am aware, expectations will probably be higher than what we can deliver off the bat, but I also know that the organization is very good at shutting out the noise and standing together.
Replacing farlig
To get space for device, Astralis has decided to bench their current AWPer Asger "farlig" Jensen. That was confirmed by the Danish organization in their statement today. Whether Astralis will make more changes to their roster is still unknown for the outside - however rumours of them wanting to pick up Victor "Staehr" Staehr from Sprout have emerged in recent weeks. Something, Sprout has peacefully responded with a "No thanks".
